Volunteering

A great way to participate in the One Day Hike is to volunteer to support the hike.  We need people throughout the day and all along the trail to help with a variety of support activities.

BIKE PATROLERS serve as sweeps and assist hikers. If interested in becoming a volunteer bike patroller for the One Day Hike, please email Frank Wodarczyk at bikepatrol@onedayhike.org.

FIRST AIDERS who hold a minimum current certification in Wilderness First Aid & CPR are needed to provide first aid support to participants and other volunteers throughout the event. Those with Wilderness First Responder certification and/or higher levels of training are encouraged to volunteer. Common injuries and illnesses include blisters, sore muscles and occasionally dehydration, hypothermia, hyponatremia and heat exhaustion.

Discounted wilderness medicine & American Red Cross training courses are available through the Center for Wilderness Safety for all volunteers and participants. Please call (888) 945-3402 for more information.
